You’re standing on the edge of a gigantic hole. How do you answer? your seatbelt comes undone, it goes dark for a moment. you’re swept away. One step back, so you can see something. Another step, because you want to see it better. Another step back, because you still don’t understand. What you see isn’t enough yet, you want to get further away. One more. From here, you look.

The project formulates an outside perspective from within me. Viewed from a distance, the focus is on the order in which we live. The possibility of shifted perceptions opens up the chance to ask questions differently. The present world, from which I originally intended to create a utopia, seems too indistinct to me. In the process of discovering something new, I distance myself from the everyday. Contrary to expectations, however, this does not reduce complexities. Details that seem close up merge, opening our eyes to the bigger picture. What appears isolated when viewed up close takes on a new context when viewed from a distance.
